Ladies in Lavender - DVD

Ursula and Janet, two aging sisters, live in a small Cornish fishing village in 1936. After the huge storm, they find a wounded young man in front of their house on the beach. The appearance of Andrea turns the lives of the two sisters upside down. The tyrannical Janet, the war widow, literally appropriates the stranger, with whom the withdrawn, more modest Ursula falls in love. By the way, the man is a Polish violinist who wants to go to America. The locals look at the turn of events with a bad eye, especially when Andrea befriends a Russian woman on vacation nearby.
